How can I help?
How person-centred counselling can help you?

As the name suggests, person-centred counselling is all about you, your needs and desires. My aim is to provide a secure, non-judgemental space for you to explore and express - without fear - your feelings and thoughts as you make your way towards healing.

Person-centred counselling offers no gimmicks, no magical cures; just the core nurturing conditions of empathy, authenticity and acceptance:
- Empathy, where you feel heard and understood;
- Authenticity, where I am not playing at being “the expert”, but am real and genuine;
- Acceptance, where you are never judged, diagnosed or pigeon-holed.

My practice

I offer counselling in-person, online and over the telephone.

My practice is governed by the ethical rules of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which are there to protect both you and me. You can find them here.

In-person sessions are held at my home address, in the “garden room”, a space separate from the main house. The address is within easy reach of Nantwich, Market Drayton and Newcastle/Stoke, however, it is not served by public transport. Parking is available. On contact, full details will be shared with you.

All sessions last 50 minutes. I work with over-18s only.

Training, qualifications and experience

I have a Master’s in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Keele University and I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I have worked with a Cheshire counselling service in conjunction with the NHS, a hospice in Stoke-on-Trent and a charity helping refugees in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

I have helped clients tackle a range of issues including: ADHD, anxiety, addiction, bereavement, depression, gender dysphoria, low self-esteem, panic attacks, relationship problems and self-harming.

My experience before joining the family of counsellors and psychotherapists extends across a number of commercial and educational settings in the UK and overseas, specialising in mentoring, coaching and training.
