Welcome
Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.
Helen Keller
I offer therapeutic counselling to individuals and couples online and in-person. I work with adults of all ages who are navigating life’s challenges or seeking self-discovery.
My practice is “person-centred”, which means it is grounded in the deep belief that you are the expert in you; my aim is to provide a secure, non-judgemental space for you to explore and express your feelings and thoughts. It also means that the therapy you receive will always take its lead from what suits you best.
I help clients tackle a wide range of issues including: ADHD, anxiety, addiction, bereavement, depression, gender dysphoria, low self-esteem, panic attacks, relationship problems, self-harming and social anxiety.
A qualified, registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), my work upholds the BACP's Ethical Framework, ensuring my commitment to a professional and compassionate engagement with you. Regular supervision is a priority in my ongoing growth and well-being, always conducted with utmost confidentiality. Rest assured, I adhere to UK-GDPR and stringent confidentiality policies, prioritising your privacy and trust.
About me
Like many counsellors, psychotherapy was not my first career choice, but it is definitely my best. Having many years ago studied German and Politics, I fell into accountancy hoping to be able to work overseas once I qualified. Sure enough, I spent some ten years abroad, mainly in Prague and Warsaw, and I have travelled extensively ever since. Not being especially gifted – or interested in – numbers, I gravitated towards people-oriented roles including mentoring and coaching professional development and training. It is these varied experiences that I strive to bring to my practice today.
I have a Master’s (distinction) in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Keele University and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I currently lecture on the MSc Counselling and Psychotherapy programme at Keele University.
In addition, I have worked with the Dougie Mac Hospice in Stoke-on-Trent and HealthBox CIC, a Cheshire-based counselling service in conjunction with the NHS, and a charity helping refugees in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
