As an executive coach and mentor I can accompany and support you as you work through the challenges that are confronting your professional progress; for example, a change in career, a new role or performance issues.

How can I help?

My approach draws on specialist therapy training and many years’ experience in commercial roles in the UK and overseas, working in multinationals and start-ups in numerous industrial sectors.

All this experience does not make me some kind of business guru or sage – quite the opposite really: my experience is made up as much from failing as from succeeding! My role will be to create the space for you to work through the challenges maximising your skills and attributes, offering the core nurturing conditions of empathy, authenticity and acceptance:

– Empathy, where you feel heard and understood;
– Authenticity, where I am not playing at being “the expert”, but am real and genuine;
– Acceptance, where you are never judged, diagnosed or pigeon-holed.

The boundary between executive coaching and therapeutic counselling is not fixed. In practice the two disciplines often overlap. If we agree to begin with coaching, we will only bring in therapeutic counselling if the need arises and, of course, if you desire it.

For example, suppose you have been tasked with a new role leading an under-performing team. We might begin with gaining an overview of the challenges you envisage and planning the actions that may be required. And that might be enough. It may however emerge that unresolved anxieties are holding back your progress, in which case we may agree to work through them therapeutically as part of our engagement.
