This shot was taken in February 1992 at the Grób Nieznanego Żołnierza (Tomb of the Unknown Soldier) in Warsaw, Poland, using my first SLR, a Pentax ME Super.
It was one of the runners-up in Time Out’s 1993 Travel Photography Competition and was displayed alongside the winner and other runners-up at the Photographers’ Gallery, London.
